Our goal is not only to prevent acute effects, but we are specialized in recognizing and dealing with health effects that might arise after prolonged exposure (from days to decades) through providing expert advice and effective collaboration to prevent and mitigate the impact of infectious diseases, environmental, chemical and radiological threats.

Industrial Hygiene

Industrial Hygiene safeguards worker health and their workplace by preventing ill health caused by the work environment. It is fundamental in the assessment and control of health risks from workplace exposure to hazards. Industrial hygienists help the business understand these risks and minimise or control them. It is our goal to understand the exposures at the workplace because of the potential impact on worker’s lives and demonstrate Care for People.

A core role of the Industrial Hygiene team is to support the business in Health Risk Assessments (HRA). HRA is the application of the Hazards and Effects Management Process to health hazards as described in the HSSE & SP Control Framework and is a mandatory requirement as per the HSSE & SP Health Hazard Management Manual.

The Industrial Hygiene Team also performs the following:

  • undertaking workplace surveys, and assessing risks to health arising from factors such as chemicals, noise, and poor lighting or ventilation
  • measuring and sampling levels of exposure
  • providing recommendations on control measures
  • providing advice and guidance on personal protective equipment

Public Health

The areas of Public Health is to protect and improve the welfare of community, may it be in the work, office or home environment, including prevention of infectious disease, promoting safe environment and ensuring optimal safe food and drinking water standards.

Public Health performs the following:

  • Water sampling and analysis
  • Indoor Air Quality assessments
  • Food Safety
  • Infectious Disease investigation
  • Environmental Health on Asbestos
  • Asbestos Subject Matter Expert
